Hold that thought!
Big News! This is the LAST day of National Unmarried and Single Americans Week! Who knew? This kind of weird, but wonderful celebration was started by a Singles group in Ohio in the 1980s. Then The National Singles Press Association took it over when the Ohio group ended.
It is widely (I never heard of it before yesterday) observed in the third full week of September. Why the National Unmarried and Singles Week? Singles you get. Well, unmarried Americans do not all identify with the word single because they are parents, have partners, are divorced, or are widowed.
So get on your party dress and your dancing shoes and go celebrate! Next year I think I will plan a party! Only unmarrieds and singles invited. Have fun!
