Writing Day 2

Well, I was so busy yesterday that I didn’t get my daily words in.

“Idleness is not doing nothing.  Idleness is being free to do anything.”

Floyd Dell, American Writer, 1887-1969

Creative people of any kind need that idle time to recharge and allow the new ideas to percolate.  Sometimes I do my best problem solving when I am not doing anything.  Or a crazy thought will come to me that triggers a poem, a story, a dance, or an essay.  Being perpetually busy can stifle your intuitive powers.  In one of those idle moments I decided to start this blog.  It freed me up to consider other writings that will appear in the future.

So put down that broom and spend a little time doing nothing.
