Lesson #5 from “sell this house?”

The last lesson from “sell this house” is more philosophical than financial. Remember that where you choose to live…whether apartment, condo, house (big or small), condo, tepee, cabin, or houseboat…is your temple.

Choose it with love and caring. Fill it with things you love. If you are just starting out, make your choices carefully. And, if you have ended up with tons of “stuff”…do something about it. Go through everything. If it doesn’t have sentimental, practical, or aesthetic value to you, toss it. Have a yard sale, give it to a charity shop, or put it in the trash. Everything in your house, from your dishes to your shower curtain, needs to reflect YOU.

Each time I have moved I have downsized…and then collected…and then downsized… Now, I am at the stage of life where every painting, glass, tea-cup, and towel is something I know I will use or love.

This is the last entry in the “sell this house?” series. Thank you for following down my path.

Now it’s time to clean my temple.
