Elder Care and Hospice

As I look out my window to the snow that is slowly…and I mean slowly… melting, I am aware that growing older mirrors nature.  As part of aging and gerontology, you need to understand that hospice care may be in your future.  You also need a good view of elder care.  Here are some blogs on these issues…

HOSPICE PHYSICIAN’S BLOG…. Learn about hospice care and gerontology from a physician who works with hospice patients.  www.hospicephysician.wordpress.com/ This is a very straight forward and sensitive blog by the head of a hospice unit.  I read the entry from Nov 1, 2011 which he/she titled “Sorry, I Don’t Recognize Your Name.”  Leaving hospice until the very end of life is a mistake, according to this doctor.  Read and learn.

GERIPAL…. A blog about geriatrics and palliative care, and issues that such care encompasses.  Excellent!  www.geripal.org/

HOSPICE AND CAREGIVING BLOG… Learn more about hospice care, and againg issues.  All part of life.  blog.hospicefoundation.org/ Excellent…

ALIVE HOSPICE BLOG… An interesting blog about hospice care, and aging issues.  Go to alivehospice.org/blog/

Good information for all of us, no matter what your age…
